“Period” Art Words: “Begin a New Day”-Part Three

Hi Friends:

Here we are, writing again about “Beginning,” and I just realized, after all of this time … that when I write to you … I never include a greeting to open … I don’t know if having a greeting is considered to be proper in cyberspace, but, if I was writing a hand-written letter to friend or family, or even a “business” letter, a greeting is always the mandatory way to start. So, since I really do consider everyone who honors us by “stopping by” and reading our posts a friend, as well as a tremendous blessing to us, I’ll try to always start our writing to you in the personal, “proper” way. I do try to always end with my own, personal standard “closing” of “Blessings,” or “Blessings to you, and your family.” When I am writing business correspondence to customers over at our online business, I always close with “Blessings to you, your Pastor, and your family,” or, “Blessings to you, your family, and your business.”

The reason I do this is because it reinforces our business motto, our business mantra, and our core belief, taken from Genesis 12:3, that God will bless those who bless you.
Period.
I know this to be true.
Period.
We have been so blessed, so privileged to serve customers all over the world, and to hear from readers from every land.

I have been asked why we don’t, very often, make a point to promote our business on our blog, or our Facebook page. So far, that’s the only 2 “social network” type efforts we are involved in. After all, I am questioned, isn’t that the reason a business would have a blog or Facebook page? To promote their business? A purposeful attempt to send potential customers from one place to the other? Etc.

To answer those questions, I must go back to the only reason we started the blog/Facebook page to begin with. Our business was doing well; we were receiving visits and serving customers from every part of the globe. But, the whole idea behind the business was to bless others. Our products would serve as a vehicle to bless others. Period. Our business motto, for Pastor Appreciation Gifts, was “To Honor Those Who Honor Him.” Yes, this all came about, the online business came about, really, because of “Why, Pastor, Why.” We needed an avenue to get “Why, Pastor, Why” into the hands of as many Pastors as God would allow. We had no idea how much work was involved in an online store, nor did we realize how many people the business would attract. You must also realize that, after writing “Why, Pastor, Why,” God gave me, very personally and directly, specific promises regarding the poem, and the future. I have done my best to honor those directions, and the promises behind them.

Yet … the whole idea behind the business was to bless others, to encourage, witness to, and inspire. I just didn’t want people to think we were “in the business” for the “business.” We felt strongly that, yes, a Christian business is great, but … the underlying reason for all of it was to minister to others. How best to do that? So, this is where the blog originated. Then, we decided to “mirror” the blog over to Facebook, because some people like blogs, others liked Facebook. It gave us the opportunity do what the whole idea was to begin with … To encourage, witness to, and inspire. We are able to do more on the blog, with photos, history, and so forth, but we have been blessed by our contacts on Facebook, as well.

That is really the reason we started the blog, and our Facebook ministry. I pray every day, and that’s how I describe them as I pray, as a “ministry,” asking God to bless them both, and to help us minister to, encourage, bless, inspire, and to lead people to Jesus.
Period.

Well … yet again, it looks like we’re not going to be able to get to that artwork of “Begin a New Day” which was the whole idea, and of which I began the first paragraph of what would become “Part One” with the intention of describing … But, that’s ok. I started this writing with the sole intention of going directly to the artwork, but, as is often the case, God led me in a totally different direction. If I can “Begin” everything I do, including each and every day, being totally open to His guidance and direction, I’ll be ok with that.

It also takes a lot of time to fulfill my self-made commitment to write every third day (I do love that “3rd day” idea, though). It really is a commitment which I try to stick to. It is difficult, but a real joy. We are so blessed to have friends all over the world, and we are “blown away” so often by the reach of these online ministries. I could give a story each week, of how faithful God has been to our writing, and reaching out, as we used to call it in radio, “across the airwaves.” Here’s one from just this week: Recently, we shared a video of a commercial that centered on “Friendship,” and featured players involved in Wheelchair Basketball. I just heard from a Wheelchair Basketball League team in Great Britain, south of London, who liked the write-up about the video. What an honor to have made so many friends in England! Great Britain has been so good to us, and we are so grateful!
We have featured stories about the author of certain hymns, which is a favorite subject. Shortly after sharing the history/author of a famous hymn, I heard from the grandson of the author, who, himself, was thrilled by the story about his beloved Grandfather … which someone had shown him, while at church that Sunday morning. There have been so many stories like that.

We also have a “YouTube channel,” where we feature the videos from the blog/Facebook pages, and we are constantly blessed by those who write to us about that. Just this morning, one of my favorite people from the entertainment world, from a very famous “acting family,” wrote to say they enjoyed one of the videos. You just never know … you just keep on … keeping on …

Every letter which we send out will always have the two “by-words” of our ministry:
“Honor” and “Privilege.”
It’s because it is such an honor, and a privilege, to be allowed to serve you, and to share our writing with you.

The “Begin a New Day” was started to go with what we had shared about the “Beginning” of the New Year. In a couple of weeks, it’ll be February … I’ll try to end the series before then …

I hope this explains why we don’t often promote Pastor Appreciation Gifts via this source. It’s not because we’re not proud of what we do over there, but, the ministry must always be first. It must never be about “us.” We are really excited about the future of the business, and what direction it will be taking in the near future. We can’t escape the fact that the business is as much a part of us as the writing, etc. I also notice I haven’t mentioned the book yet. I have also had people ask me why I don’t go all-out to promote the book over here. Well, I do mention it on occasion, only when a particular work from the book is shared. The book is also something, like the future, which is not in my hands.

We will try to write more about the business in the future, perhaps. And, the artwork we feature at Pastor Appreciation Gifts. Especially as we do more. We have been so blessed to hear that some friends visit the website just to read the messages on the artwork, as it blesses and encourages them. Well … that’s what we’re “in business” for.

Blessings to you, and your family,
Richard. Vincent. Rose.

Hello, Bless you, and Welcome to our Pastor Appreciation Gifts Blog!

Hello, Bless you, and Welcome to our Pastor Appreciation Gifts Blog!

We are so blessed, and encouraged, to have dear friends visit us from all over the world, and we’ll continue to be blessed by every visit. God is so awesome to have blessed us, allowing us to share and minister, here, through our blog, literally, all across the globe. Just yesterday, as an example, we had new visitors from Africa, Australia, Italy, Canada, and here in the States. We gained a precious, new follower to our blog, from England.

We have had the honor and privilege of serving so many, over at our Christian Gifts website, Pastor Appreciation Gifts, which initially sprang from the writing of “Why, Pastor, Why.” As our online business grew, taking so much of our time, we realized that, yes, our products did uplift, inspire, encourage, and witness … but … the whole idea behind our business, our writing … our very lives … was to minister … we had to find a way to reach people, and bless them …

This is where the Blog came in, and then, we expanded, over to our Facebook page. There are people we can reach through our Blog, which don’t “do Facebook,” and there are people we reach on Facebook who wouldn’t follow a blog. So, that’s how this began, strictly as an online ministry outreach of Pastor Appreciation Gifts.

We have been blessed to feature videos we’ve discovered along the way, or videos that have been shared with us. For that reason, we began Our YouTube Channel, where you will find, in one place, all of the videos we feature on the blog. Our YouTube Channel has become one of our most successful ministry outreaches, and we invite you to follow us there.

We are Ted and Carol, the same Ted and Carol from Pastor Appreciation Gifts.
We live in the Great North Woods of New Hampshire, USA, and both of us work outside of the home, as well. I am a certified Library Media Specialist, and, yes, I work in the Public School System. God needs people there, too. Carol, after many years in the Medical field, works as an adviser in an assisted-living community. Yes, God needs people there, too.

So, we work full-time, write full-time, and all the time, try to help and minister to as many as God will allow. It is a pretty guarded “secret” that I write and perform under a pen name … a name God chose for me, to honor my parents, and Carol’s parents. I took time off from performing and speaking to finish up School, get the business started, and some other projects I had to complete … including the new book. With a lot of new writing projects … I don’t think it will be long before I am “back out there” again …

It is such a blessing to have you visit us. Our main purpose won’t change, to edify, uplift, inspire, and encourage. Enjoy, and be blessed through our Blog. Of course, you have the open invitation to follow us as we go, and send us any comments, thoughts, or stories to share.
Above all, please pray for us!

Blessings to you, and your family,
Ted

Open Invitation: Visit Our Pastor Appreciation Gifts Store

Hi All:
Since we began the Blog back in the Summer, we have been so blessed to have so many of you join us here. We began the Blog as an online  ministry outreach of our Christian Gift Store, Pastor Appreciation Gifts, which we have been operating, online, for several years.
The idea was to never have the Blog “go commercial,” as a vechicle just to send visitors to our business, and we won’t ever do that.

However, we realize that when we meet new people, the talk always turns to the business, because that’s such a part of “us.” People always ask “What do you do?” and so forth. We are proud to have been allowed the privilege to serve customers all over the world. Our business motto has always been from Genesis 12:3, that “I will bless them that bless thee.”
Our goal has always been to bless as many people as God will allow. That’s really it: To bless, inspire, and encourage.
My Mom used to always say that “God will honor those who honor Him.”
Well, that’s where we got our business logo from:
Screen PrintMost people know us as the source for our “Mini-Pulpits,” which are in the shape of a real pulpit, with exclusive plates on both the top and the front/stem of the Mini-Pulpit. A sample of these are pictured here:
minipulpitsPerhaps the first thing people think of is “Why, Pastor, Why,” which is also only available through Pastor Appreciation Gifts. In fact, “Why, Pastor, Why” was the initial reason for the first website. We’ve just added new products along the way.
Ruby MarbleIt’s still the “Flagship” product, and always will be, as we were instructed from the beginning. When we first published Pastor Appreciation Gifts, there were a very few website searches for “Why, Pastor, Why.” Last month, 1,830,000 searches were made for the term, “Why, Pastor, Why.”
groupWe are just beginning, and have many new products to develop as we go, which we will.

We are honored to have you visit our Blog, and it is a real privilege to serve you over at Pastor Appreciation Gifts. Please know that we are working on the website constantly, and we look forward to serving you in the future.

Blessings to you, your family, and your Pastor,

Ted and Carol

A Message of Thanks-Keep Looking Up

Hello and Blessings:
We just want to thank you all so much for visiting our blog!
Since we started, in May of 2012, we have been blessed to have thousands of friends visit us here, from all over the world.
So far, we have had visitors from a total of 99 different countries, and from every continent and region of the world.
We praise God for that, and for the opportunity to share with so many wonderful friends from, literally, all over (and, “under”).

Looking ahead … well, we’re not looking ahead, necessarily, … but, we certainly will keep looking up, and we encourage you all to do the same: As Jehoshaphat prayed, and what a great prayer recorded in 2 Chronicles 20: “… neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee” (verse 12).

So, we wish to do all we can to encourage you, most of all, to make your relationship with Jesus just the way He wants, not the way you want … His will be done in you, and through you, to the glory of God … Allow me to say that, today, this year, we don’t need a new resolution … we need a new revelation … of Who Jesus is, and can be, in and through us …

“Now thanks be unto God, which ALWAYS causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savor of his knowledge by us in every place” (2 Corinthians 2:14).
Why, yes, that does mean, also, in the workplace … and in our homes … even among our families …

Back to 2 Chronicles 20, this time to the words of Jahaziel:
“Be not afraid or dismayed … for the battle is not yours, but God’s … set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you … for the LORD will be with you” (15-17).

So, to all our friends, please have faith, believe, and act on it! We always say that, “When we act on faith, we’re not acting!” God, and God alone, has met all of our needs, all of this year. And, we still trust Him, because He hasn’t changed, nor has His love for us changed.
Gotta love that 2 Chronicles 20: “Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper” (verse 20).

As the old “CBer’s” used to say, “10-4 on that” … (Yes, I remember the old CB craze) … I wonder if all that meant 2 Corinthians 10:4: “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.”
Gotta love that 2 Corinthians, too!

In closing, allow us to thank you again for joining us this year, and we do promise to do a better job in putting together more information about encouraging Pastors and their families … We welcome any encouraging words you’d like to send us to encourage both the Pastor, and the flock …

Closing # 2: We do encourage you to pray more, and to study your Bible more, so that you can be more … like Jesus!
And, please make a point to read those great stories from the Bible about the lives and actions of all of the great characters in our past, our relatives in the faith … I just finished studying about Moses, and Noah, and Abraham … can’t wait to read again the story of Joseph … and, so many others … their stories are there, just like we pray our stories will be here, to witness to, and encourage you all …
Please allow us to hear from you!
And, speaking of Abraham:
” … And I will bless them that bless thee …” (Genesis 12:3)

On behalf of Carol, and I, thank you again … and bless you all,
Ted

About The Ministries Which We Support

We are honored and privileged to be allowed to share with you some of the ministries which we actively support.

In each case, we either personally know the people involved and can vouch for the ministry, or we feel led by the Spirit to lend our support in any way we can.

First, we support our local church and its ministries, with tithes and offerings. And, yes, this includes all profits earned from our website business, etc. We won’t talk about it in any detail, but we know it is a question our visitors and customers may ask. We feel the same way: We support those who give-of themselves, and their resources.  We both already know that we don’t really have anything, anyway: It is already God’s. This includes our lives, our business, our finances, our resources … all we have is because God has blessed us to have … in order to give.

Please know this: We know that true ministry relies on the giving of others.

We are not involved-in any way-in the donation or collection process of any of the ministries which we will feature on this blog. If you are led to give to any of these ministries, in any way, it is the individual ministry you must contact. Again, we are using our resources only to make you aware of a particular ministry, and providing the contact information. Again, we don’t, and won’t, accept contributions or donations on a particular ministry’s behalf.

These are not listed in some sort of order of importance, or to imply that one is in any way to be viewed over another. We will be adding to these as we go along.

Please … pray for these ministries, and for us.

Blessings to you, and your family,

Ted and Carol
