Open Invitation: Visit Our Pastor Appreciation Gifts Store

Hi All:
Since we began the Blog back in the Summer, we have been so blessed to have so many of you join us here. We began the Blog as an online  ministry outreach of our Christian Gift Store, Pastor Appreciation Gifts, which we have been operating, online, for several years.
The idea was to never have the Blog “go commercial,” as a vechicle just to send visitors to our business, and we won’t ever do that.

However, we realize that when we meet new people, the talk always turns to the business, because that’s such a part of “us.” People always ask “What do you do?” and so forth. We are proud to have been allowed the privilege to serve customers all over the world. Our business motto has always been from Genesis 12:3, that “I will bless them that bless thee.”
Our goal has always been to bless as many people as God will allow. That’s really it: To bless, inspire, and encourage.
My Mom used to always say that “God will honor those who honor Him.”
Well, that’s where we got our business logo from:
Screen PrintMost people know us as the source for our “Mini-Pulpits,” which are in the shape of a real pulpit, with exclusive plates on both the top and the front/stem of the Mini-Pulpit. A sample of these are pictured here:
minipulpitsPerhaps the first thing people think of is “Why, Pastor, Why,” which is also only available through Pastor Appreciation Gifts. In fact, “Why, Pastor, Why” was the initial reason for the first website. We’ve just added new products along the way.
Ruby MarbleIt’s still the “Flagship” product, and always will be, as we were instructed from the beginning. When we first published Pastor Appreciation Gifts, there were a very few website searches for “Why, Pastor, Why.” Last month, 1,830,000 searches were made for the term, “Why, Pastor, Why.”
groupWe are just beginning, and have many new products to develop as we go, which we will.

We are honored to have you visit our Blog, and it is a real privilege to serve you over at Pastor Appreciation Gifts. Please know that we are working on the website constantly, and we look forward to serving you in the future.

Blessings to you, your family, and your Pastor,

Ted and Carol

International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church-November 11

Will Your Church Pray on Nov. 11?

Dear Friends:

When we ask persecuted Christians in hostile and restricted nations how we can help and bless them, their first response is, “Pray for us!”

The International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church, on the second Sunday in November, is an important way of answering their request. It is a day for the worldwide Body of Christ to unite in prayer for members of the Body who suffer for their faith.

To assist your church in praying effectively on IDOP Sunday, The Voice of the Martyrs is offering the 2012 IDOP Church Resource Kit. The kit includes a 5-minute DVD that shares the story of Bounchan, who was imprisoned in Laos for almost 13 years because of his Christian faith. It also includes a variety of other resources to help your church “Remember those in bonds” (Heb. 13:3) on this important day.

While IDOP is set aside as a special day of prayer for the persecuted, it is vital that we remember our persecuted family throughout the year. A VOM prayer banner is available to help remind your church family to pray for the persecuted throughout the year.

Our brothers and sisters of the persecuted church ask that we pray for them. Will you and your church answer their request this November?

For those in bonds,
The Voice of the Martyrs

Guest Post: “The Gift of Encouragement”

Great words of encouragement here. Please read the separate articles which are linked to this story. This story/post was a “gift of encouragement,” to me, and I hope for you!

Enough Light

This is another “summer re-run”, as I re-post some articles from my first year of blogging.

The Gift of Encouragement

One of the highest of human duties is the duty of encouragement. It is easy to laugh at men’s ideals; it is easy to pour cold water on their enthusiasm; it is easy to discourage others.  The world is full of discouragers.  We have a Christian duty to encourage one another.  Many a time a word of praise or thanks or appreciation or cheer has kept a man on his feet.  Blessed is the man who speaks such a word.  – William Barclay

Here is an article called “19 ways to Encourage Others”  and another called “The Power of Encouragement”.  Maybe you have wanted to encourage others but just weren’t sure how to do it?  Both of these articles give examples and offer practical ways that you can…

Guest Post:vWHAT WILL BE YOUR LEGACY? – THE S. G. ELTON EXAMPLE

“Investing in people is a costly and risky business; in fact it’s plain hard work. But as I have come to know that’s where the real joy and fulfillment in leadership comes from. Only your deposit in people’s lives is what will endure after all is said and done.”

WHAT WILL BE YOUR LEGACY? – THE S. G. ELTON EXAMPLE.

Excellent!

Guest Post: “A LOVE NOTE TO MY WIFE!”

“I think if we make appreciation a regular occurrence in our relationships, especially the significant ones – our spouses, our children, our parents, and our close friends – the quality of those relationships will increase …”

A LOVE NOTE TO MY WIFE!.

What a great way to start the Second Half of 2012! To tell those we appreciate … that we appreciate! Think about this: What better way for us to be appreciated?

Guest Post: “Pastoral Priorities”

Many pressures and demands pull on the pastor’s time. A full-time capacity does not allow enough time to address them all, though I wish it did. Be wise and diligent with whatever time you are given …

Pastoral priorities.

We enjoyed this one … especially loved the comments from other readers!
